            Ruskin's Women
                 by Ros Connelly
Anglia Ruskin University for the International Conference
                'Ruskin the Educator'
     Saturday April 11th 2015, at 1.30pm

While the conference looked in depth at the serious side of Ruskin's work as an educator, green and social campaigner, artist and art critic, Cambridge Street Players took a short, light-hearted look at some of his relationships with women.
Ruskin's Women suggested, tentatively, how these encounters, drawn from his own writings and recollections of his youthful infatuations, plus the odd bit of gossip, might have affected his views on women's sphere and education.

Costumes superb and the acting and sheer professionalism of the whole cast was a perfect joy.
Professor Valerie Purton, Anglia Ruskin University
